ETIKA PROFESI PSIKOLOG DALAM PRAKTIK KONSELING DI INDONESIA

Abstrak

Professional ethics in counseling practice is a set of moral principles and standards that govern the behavior and decisions of psychologists in serving their clients. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of professional ethics for psychologists in counseling practice, which will benefit academics, practitioners, and the general public. This study employed a library research method with a qualitative approach. The library research was chosen to gain an in-depth understanding of the ethical aspects of the psychology profession in counseling practice in Indonesia through the review and analysis of various scientific literature, official documents, and other relevant written materials. Professional ethics plays a crucial role in the practice of psychological counseling in Indonesia as a moral and professional guide for psychologists in interacting with clients. Through the Indonesian Code of Ethics for Psychology (KEPI), compiled by HIMPSI (Indonesian Psychological Association), key principles such as respect for human dignity, professional responsibility, integrity, confidentiality, competence, and maintaining professional relationships are consistently implemented.
